Jewish led protest moment during the opening ceremony of the National Holocaust Museum
Never again is now!

We express our deep concern regarding the upcoming opening of the Dutch national Holocaust Museum, where Israeli president Yitzhak Herzog is scheduled to attend alongside Dutch King Willem Alexander.

While we honor the memory of our ancestors who perished in the Holocaust and recognize the importance of preserving their memory, we cannot stand by silently while the Genocide in Gaza continues to unfold.

We are organizing a peaceful protest moment during the opening ceremony of the National Holocaust Museum.

We as Jews deserve better than the instrumentalisation of our pain in order to justify an ongoing Genocide!

The resilience of the martyrs of the Holocaust guide our actions- because even our dead deserve to rest without having their killings weaponized to normalize the Genocide of the Palestinian people.

Join Erev Rav in a Jewish led protest moment, happening during the opening ceremony of the National Holocaust Museum on Sunday 10th of March from 11:00 onwards!

Ceasefire now! End the occupation!

📢📢📢 Urgent call to action 📢📢📢

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Are you protesting the museum itself?

Absolutely not. As Jews we are happy to see the lives and stories of Shoah survivors highlighted. We are protesting the presence of Israeli President Isaac Herzog in the opening ceremony of the museum, as we believe that his presence creates a dangerous symbolism, used to legitimise the current genocide in Gaza. We also believe there are plenty of incredibly accomplished Jewish people based in The Netherlands who could have been invited instead to preform such an official act.

Can I bring my country’s national flag?

Unless they are the Palestinian flag, we ask you not to. The Palestinian national flag is the only national flag allowed during this moment.

What kind of slogans can I bring with me?

Our main goal is to demonstrate intersectional solidarity so slogans such as “Ceasefire now” “From the River to the Sea Palestine will be free” “Never again is now!” "Never again for anyone!” “Stop the genocide” "End Dutch complicity” “Free Palestine” are welcome. Be creative! However, slogans that are deemed to be islamophobic or antisemitic dog whistles will be removed immediately.

I am Jewish and I don't want to come alone. How can I find other Jewish people?

As we hope to gather as many Jewish people as possible. there will be a Jewish block in front of the stage. Please come find us. We will be happy to welcome you in this act of resilience

I am not Jewish or Palestinian. Can I still come?

Absolutely! Allies are always welcome!

Do you condemn anti-semitism?

Yes! In fact we reject any tropes that imply that standing with the Palestinian people is in itself, antisemitic. As Jews, we are against any type of hate speech or symbolism that frames Jews as a monolith and plays on old tropes to create more hatred against us. This will not be tolerated and we reserve the ultimate right of removal of anything/anyone disrupting this moment.

How will I know where to go?

The location is on the Waterlooplein, in front of the Mozes en Aäronkerk. Our team of volunteers will be there to help guide people. Please make sure to respect their requests and advice.

TOGETHER WE WILL HOLD THIS SPACE

WE ARE ALL RESPONSIBLE FOR EACHOTHER
